Mom's Birthday Cake

This is a birthday cake I made for my mom.  The top tier is a 6" round of a 3 layer dark chocolate cake with ganache.  The bottom tier is a 8" hexagon of a 4 layer sponge cake filled with lemon curd, swiss meringue buttercream, and homemade strawberry jam.  Both cakes were covered with MMF tinted in ivory/ soft pink (my mom loves pink).

The flowers were made by me.  They were painted with pearly dusts in multi-colors.  I am still learning on how to make gumpaste/ fondant flowers.  Hopefully with time, I will make prettier and known flowers (lol).

Bailey's Mint Chocolate Cupcakes

These were made for my friend Chris' birthday.  They are chocolate cupcakes filled with white chocolate and Bailey's Hint of Mint Irish Cream, frosted with mint swiss meringue buttercream, and then topped with a Bailey's cake bomb.  YUM!

They were very decadent and perfect with a cup of coffee.  Who knew cupcakes could be so grown up!  Thank you Lots of Sprinkles for the recipe.

Dark Chocolate Cayenne Truffle Cupcakes

Inspired by Daniel's Chocolates' Spicy Dark Chocolate Truffles, these cupcakes are dark chocolate cakes with cayenne pepper and topped with dark chocolate buttercream also with a hint of cayenne pepper.  Very decadent!
