Kaitlin's First Birthday Cake

I made this for a friend of my cousin's. It was her daughter's first birthday, and it was to be Baby Kaitlin's first taste of cake. Wow! It had better be tasty or the poor girl will be scarred for life! :P

Her mother wanted something light, not too sweet, and yummy. She picked a vanilla sponge cake, with fresh strawberries, all covered with fresh mango Swiss meringue buttercream. I was a little concerned with strawberries and mangos, but it worked deliciously.

Baby Kaitlin's favorite things are farm related with little piggies and duckies being her biggest loves. I hope she enjoyed her own little farm animal birthday cake.

Jayden's Super Mario Cupcakes

Jayden LOVES Super Mario Brothers. He asked for a dozen Super Mario Cupcakes to share with his daycare class for his third birthday. When did young children get to be so particular? (LOL)

The chocolate/ chocolate cupcakes apparently were a BIG hit with the class and teachers. I was told it was the best birthday treats any of them have ever had. YEAH for me!! :D

Nisha's Castle Cake

Nisha's my niece and probably my toughest client to date. (LOL) She was very particular with what she wanted. There would be no compromise with her. She insisted on a strawberry 3-D castle cake filled with strawberries and with strawberry buttercream. I didn't have a strawberry cake recipe and searched high and low for a made from scratch cake and found only one using fresh berries. It was a very moist cake and tasted devine even though it was a pain to work with.

I surprised her with a cake she and her friends will never forget. It's been 6 months since her birthday, and her friends are still talking about it. I say that's pretty amazing among 5 and 6 year olds. YEAH! :)

Chris and Carly's Engagement Cupcakes

Chris and Carly are good friends of mine, and when they asked me to make cupcakes for their engagement party, I was flattered.

I made 4 flavors, peanut butter cups (Carly's favorite), double chocolate, vanilla, and raspberry cheesecake, in both regular and mini sizes. They were a big hit, and everyone of them were devoured.

Brenner's Dump Truck Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my cousin's little boy Brenner. It was for his second birthday. He is a big truck fanatic. When he saw this cake he thought it was a toy. He spent most of his party sitting and guarding his new dump truck.

It was a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. Every part of the cake is edible. I never stayed until the end of the party, so I don't know how Brenner dealt with the cutting of his truck, but the response from the adults, I think it was a big hit and a yummy cake. :D

Mom's Birthday Cake

This is a birthday cake I made for my mom.  The top tier is a 6" round of a 3 layer dark chocolate cake with ganache.  The bottom tier is a 8" hexagon of a 4 layer sponge cake filled with lemon curd, swiss meringue buttercream, and homemade strawberry jam.  Both cakes were covered with MMF tinted in ivory/ soft pink (my mom loves pink).

The flowers were made by me.  They were painted with pearly dusts in multi-colors.  I am still learning on how to make gumpaste/ fondant flowers.  Hopefully with time, I will make prettier and known flowers (lol).

Bailey's Mint Chocolate Cupcakes

These were made for my friend Chris' birthday.  They are chocolate cupcakes filled with white chocolate and Bailey's Hint of Mint Irish Cream, frosted with mint swiss meringue buttercream, and then topped with a Bailey's cake bomb.  YUM!

They were very decadent and perfect with a cup of coffee.  Who knew cupcakes could be so grown up!  Thank you Lots of Sprinkles for the recipe.
